El
sable del Ejército Español, fue el primero de los fabricados por Bermejo S.A.
Junto con el de Suboficial Español son del modelo llamado de "Puerto Seguro
" en referencia a su diseñador. También es de destacar el sable de la Armada
Española: el tamaño deliberadamente corto de este sable está de acuerdo con
su uso marinero. Completan esta página espadas y sables de diferentes cuerpos

The swords for the Spanish Army were the first of the swords manufactured
by Bermejo, S.A. and together with the Spanish Non-commissioned Officers´
swords are based on the "Puerto Seguro" model, named after its designer. There
is also to be mentioned the Spanish Navy Sword. The size of this swords is
deliberately small in accordance with its marine use. To complete this page

El
sable de US Navy fue el primero fabricado por Bermejo, S.A. para la exportación.
Destaca por su empuñadura el de marines officer, claro descendiente del sable
mameluco. También es interesante el diseño estilizado de las espadas de las
Academias y Air Force. Junto con algún sable histórico de USA, se presentan
la espada y el espadín de la Armada de Méjico, este último claramente influenciado
por el modelo británico. Todas las empuñaduras realizadas en latón fundido,
presentan una terminación en pulido espejo bañado en oro de 24 K. o níquel de
primera calidad.
The
US Navy saber was the first sword that Bermejo, S.A. manufactured for export.
The Marine Officer´s Sword is distinguished by its hilt, which show its clear
descent from the Mameluke Sword. The stylised design of the Academy and Air
Force swords is also interesting. Together with a historic US saber, we show
the sword and the court sword of the Mexican Navy, this last one being clearly
influenced by British models. All the hilts are made of fused brass and have
a mirror polished finish, gilded with 24 K gold or finest quality nickel.
En esta página se presentan mayoritariamente espadas y sables
usados por ejércitos europeos, junto con otros de diferentes países claramente
influenciados por los fabricantes del viejo continente. La variedad es importante;
así, junto con la espada de oficial del Ejército Griego cuya hoja es una de
las más flexibles de todas las conocidas, se encuentra la riqueza de los sables
británicos, noruego o belga. En estas espadas se utiliza, con el mismo cuidado,
el acero inoxidable o el tradicional acero al carbono.
Principally
sabers used by European Armies are shown on this page, together with other
items for different countries, which are clearly injluenced by the nanufactures
of the Old World. The variety is important so, alongside the Hellenic Army
Officer's sword, whose blade is the one of the most flexible Known, one can
find, the richness of the British, Norwegian and Belgian swords. These swords,
whether made of stainless steel or the traditional carbon steel are treated,
with the same care.
Estos sables muestran claramente su origen español o alemán.
De entre todos ellos destacan los de brigadier de Argentina, general de Chile
y la reproducción de la espada de Simón Bolivar. Verdaderas obras de arte cuya
reproducción presenta un gran número de problemas que solamente pueden ser solucionados
por artistas espaderos con gran experiencia en su trabajo. Las vainas están
realizadas en latón cincelado y pulido, terminadas en baño de oro de 24 K. En
el resto de las espadas las vainas se fabrican en acero pulido en unos casos
o forradas en piel en otros. El sable de la Armada de Brasil es un ejemplo de
cómo, en el arte de la espada, se mezcla el artesano con el orfebre.
These swords clear by show their Spanish or German origin.
Among all of these, the finest examples are the Argentinean Brigadier's sword,
the Chilean General's sword and the reproduction of Simón Bolivar's swords.
There are real works of art, whose reproduction presents a large number of
problems, which can only be solved by artists in swordmaking with great experience
in their work. The Scabbards are made of chiselled brass, polished and finished
with gilding of 24 K. The scabbards of the rest of the swords are manufactured
of polished steel in some cases or with a leather cover in others. The Brazilian
Navy Sword is an example of how the art of swordmaking combines traditional
craftsmanship with goldworking skills.
